The trip West was simply fantastic! Between our last time in Colorado and this one the park service has had opportunity to learn a lot more about the Anasazi Indians who built the cliff dwellings at Mesa Verde National Park.
This has come about through volunteers from the 12 tribes who are decendents of the cliff dwellers and via the history handed down from generation to generation. The additional knowledge of their cultures is astounding to acquire and I am truly thrilled with the additional information we recieved this time out!
Of course, the Durango to Silverton train ride was spectaculer once again – we just can’t get enough of that section of the Rockies; the San Juan Mountains.
Just four more days to the Gene Autry Days festival – I’m getting pumped for it! See ya there!
Blessings,
Will
